mindless word fun may not save the world, but it certainly keeps me amused. this time my six-year-old was loitering behind my back, watching me piece together phrases from my magic bag of words, and suddenly i saw a little hand slip into the stash and run off with a few. it hadn't occurred to me to set her loose on this game, but it should have - before i knew it, she was off in a corner, lost in verbal nirvana.
i convinced her to let me peek at her first two pieces:

which sent me to thrillsville! i now have a co-conspirator, one who is old enough to understand the world but not old enough to be warped by it yet. she has her priorities in order, i'd say.

mmm. brownies! I think they are good, but really- what about cookies!?
choose only brownies! that's the best advice i've heard in a very very long time! :-)
What a wonderful team you make! Have faith in temptation - choose only brownies. Now who can argue with that?!
she's her mother's daughter!
ah i see she comes after her wonderful mother !
i always LOVE these! and your little one made such sweet sweet ones!

happy monday, dear!
I've just witnessed the birth of another fabulous word-mash artist. Aaaahhhh! Choose brownies. YES!
Oh my goodness, girl. You are sending me subversive messages. Velvetize? Temptation? Cheese-food? And some of these aren't even real words! Holy moly, where do you GET all these. Hahaha!
HA!!! That is just plain wonderful. I believe I WILL choose brownies, and then I will have to choose elasticize AND velvetize. See? Instant weirdness.
finding out that she could mash words just sent me to the moon!! i consider it fair compensation for the grief that my other one, the almost-three year old, is putting me through at the moment ;)
as for the not-real words? they're from 50s magazines storylines and ads... complete TREASURES...
oh, by the way, i have no idea why the image quality is so crappy. some days it just is what it is.
i'm thinking we could all take us some lessons in life and living and art wording from her... she seems to have her head on pretty straight :)
I'm just happy there is enough cheese food for everyone. I have to have my cheese.
Seriously, I love this mindless word fun. I have to try it myself.
Indeed she does... and I am remembering to have faith in temptation too...
can´t tell you how much i love this! even more than brownies;... happy week!
oh how fun, aimee!!! i'm not surprised she's got the artsy talent!
Finally catching up in blog world and loving all these phrases!
SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!
Meg :)
oh, that is so sweet!
Cheese-food and brownies - you two make a great team!
So fun! Tuffy made me think of Huffy bikes! haha
Super smart little girl... Love + Brownies.. what else you need? hmmm... maybe ice cream ;)
Hi Aimee!
I love anything that mentions brownies...but I'm frankly a little worried about the mysterious broth!
LOVE it! A star is born...
PS yours are pretty cool too! ;o)
the mysterious broth frightens me a bit, too. but with enough cheese-food (whatever that really is) for everybody, faith in temptation, brownies and love, what more does one need?
p.s. i had a few REALLY raunchy ones in here but i took them out before i posted :D
The results can be amazing and amusing when you collaborate with kids. Good stuff here Aimee!
Those are fantastic!
(and I am the woman gabbling to herself in the corner!)
"choose only brownies"
Now those are some real words of wisdom :)
The daughter of a clever mother!
And by the way, me too a mother of a threeyearold, those kids can be really labyrinthic! ;)
she's good!
"Calm down there's enough cheese-food for everybody" ?!?!?
this is the best thing i've seen in at least a month! i think i might need a copy for my kitchen.
thank you for visiting my Pecannoot interview and for your comment. keep up with the cut-out word poems,
they are fantastic.
